Not a Card!!

022

Since this month at OCS we are celebrating May FLOWERS (see our monthly challenge) I decided to make something other than a card with these gorgeous Prima flowers from the OCS. This headband I made for my (not so little) baby girl was super simple.

1- I bought the elastic from my local craft store. Then, I measured the correct length of elastic for my daughters head

2- hand stitched the elastic together

3- cut a piece felt roughly the size of the flower bundle (you can trim this down after you glue the flowers on, so non of the felt is showing)

4- hot glue flowers to felt and then felt to the elastic headband.

prima

This was so easy, I hate to call it a tutorial. Its more like a “look how easy this was, you can do it too.” :)

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look and please stop by the OCS to see all the gorgeous flowers in stock!

Many holds upon happiness

018

Happy Monday, OCS friends!  If you haven’t heard, this month at OCS our challenge theme is FLOWERS. You have until the end of the month to join in and get an entry into our monthly challenge prize drawing!!

I used this gorgeous gray flower from Maya Roads on my card and since I HATE to waste, I made it into a removable barrette. I realize that not every person I make a homemade card is going to hold on to it forever. And the thought of this pretty flower finding it’s way into the garbage makes me cringe, so I gave it another function.

026

It was really very simple to make the barrette, I just hot glued the flower to a 2 pronged clip that I bought in bulk from my local beauty supply store.  The clips are really inexpensive and convenient to have on hand.029

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

I’ve created a little scene with a few of these stamps.  I colored with my copics and fussy cut them, but OCS carries the matching dies to this set also HERE.

So I am wondering, are you a fan of Lawn Fawn stamps or are they not your cup of tea?!

Swim Page!

I got a chance to scrapbook a page from my son’s swim lesson pictures. I used some of this gorgeous paper from Simple Stories Summer pack.  I really love this paper pack and will be using it a bunch more!  I kept the page fairly simple but added a cluster of various embellishments that i got from the OCS store!  Here is a close up of the embellishments.

My kids are looking forward to swim lesson’s again this year…it’s almost summer! yay!  Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

Flowers at OCS Challenge

This month at OCS our challenge theme is FLOWERS!  And who doesn’t love putting flowers on their cards?!  As always there is a fabulous prize up for grabs and you have all month to join in!

My tulle flower from Maya Roads may seem a bit large on my card but that is because I made it into a hair barrette that can be removed. I love having a multifunction embellishment. I have a couple more ideas using the gorgeous flowers I got from the OCS to show you this month, so pop back by!

Which way to Celebrate

004

I love this die set from My Favorite Things (currently out of stock but there are tons of great dies in the OCS store!)   I’m really drawing to colorful cards these days so here’s a quick and easy card I made using the MFT die set.

Do you love to doodle?  I recently saw doodling as the theme of an online challenge and it reminded me about how I love to doodle!  Do you ever do that?  Get out of the habit of using a technique you love and then remember it and fall in love all over again?!  I used my Uniball white pen…if you don’t own this pen, you should.

Thanks for popping by and taking a look!

Fly By

005

Recently I’ve been really drawn to cards with a full spectrum of colors! I love rainbows so I decided to make an airplane rainbow with these Lawn Fawn stamps and dies!  One Crazy Stamper now carries a selection of Lawn Fawn stamps, dies and papers. If you know me, you know these stamps are “up my alley”.

I’d love to hear what one of your favorite trends is in paper is?

Just a little bit of sunshine!

001

I recently ordered Simple Stories Summer Fresh paper pack and it is AMAZING!  Both of the squares of paper on my card are from that paper pack. I love that the paper looks paper pieced! It adds layer to my card without actually adding any physical dimension.  And it also has some ready made sentiment strips. I love the patterns of the regular paper in this set also.  Go take a look if you haven’t seen this paper yet!

My stamp is Suspenders Saturated Canary and colored with my copics. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

You are my Anchor

015

Happy Monday!  I’m here today to show you my One Crazy Stamper DT post.  I’ve used some really great papers and paired them with this MFT stamp.  One of my favorite things about MFT stamps is the matching sentiments. I hate trying to find a sentiment to match my image and not having one available, so MFT makes it easy for me.

You still have plenty of time to join in the OCS monthly challenge and there is a great prize up for grabs this month!  The theme is “anything goes”, so what are you waiting for?!  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.

I have long admired Saturated Canary images and I even own a few digital ones but this is my first Rubber SC stamp! I love him, he’s named Suspenders. He reminds me of my little guy.  I colored him with my copics and paired him with some cute papers from the OCS store!

Just in case you missed it there is a ANYTHING GOES challenge going on all month at OCS!  Hope you’ll stop by and join in the fun for a chance at a sweet prize!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Christmas card photos Scrapbook Page

046

Every year I try to scrapbook the photos I receive from Christmas cards. This is always a challenge because 1) I don’t do much traditional scrapbooking these days, I mostly digital scrapbook and 2) it’s kind tough putting so many pics on one layout.  Even though I don’t love the way it turned out, I love that I have it complete and it can go into our book!

I used some papers and wood buttons from the One Crazy Stamper store.

Thanks for taking a look!

Don’t forget you have a few more days to enter OCS February Challenge which is LOVE and as always there is a great prize up for grabs.

Love you to the Moon

014

Did you see our February OCS challenge is LOVE?!  Easy right? And as always there is a prize up for grabs.

I used this Memory Box Die-Chloe Stem as the main focal point on my card.  I LOVE this die as well as the My Favorite things butterfly die I used. As much as I love to color, sometimes I just love making a card without a colored image on it.  Especially when there are so many great dies out there!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

Love Love Love

016

I love the One Crazy Stamper Store, it carries all my favorite paper crafting supplies. And I LOVE being on the OCS Design Team.  In my Design Team pack this past month there was this Kraftin Kimmie stamp and I adore it.

Sign Language has a special place in my heart for a few reasons.  I know a bit of ASL and used it frequently with my little clients when doing behavioral therapy.  Then when I had kids of my own, it was easy to sign with them as infants. I was so tickled to be able to communicate with them even before they could talk.  And the 3rd reason is my brother is fluent in ASL, one of his good friends is deaf and my brother learned ASL in a matter of a few months when living with his friend.  So I made this card for my bro and will be sending it to him for Valentine’s Day.  He’s away at college and I know he doesn’t know about my blog so I’m safe to post it here.

To review, I’ve used the words Love, Love, Adore, Tickled, & Valentine’s in my post. Coincidently our challenge at OCS this month is LOVE. I’d love if you’d play along and as always there is a prize up for grabs. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

Simple Tent Card Tutorial

010 A few months back, I made this shadow box card and today I wanted to show you the quick tutorial on how to do this.  I will admit that I am REALLY intimidated to try new techniques, especially special folds on my cards.  Can you relate?  There are some amazing folds that I love the look of, but never have tried.  So I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and started small.  This is so simple anyone can do it.

First take a 12” paper and cut it to 12 “x 4.5”.  Then I scored my paper at 5.5” and again at 6.5”.   This gives you the following results.

001Next I trimmed my patterned paper and glued to the front of my card.  This should be just under 4.5”x 5.5”.

002Then I used a Spellbinder’s Nestabilities Die to cut out a window. 003

I stamped my sentiment (or image) on paper for the inside of the card and decorated the front.  The last step is to staple/glue or add a brad to the top of the card to close it.

011

Even if you don’t try this particular folded card, I hope you try something new and step outside your comfort zone. Its fun to do every once in a while!

Keep on Dancin

032

New Years Resolutions…love em? hate em?  I love setting goals, I don’t usually do a big new years goal, but I have on going goals that I have set for myself.  When I saw this image from Kraftin Kimmie, I thought of my bff and her dance exercise classes. She loves hip hop dancing to stay in shape.  I haven’t given her classes a try yet, but I have been doing cross fit for the past 3 months and I love it.  I think you need to find what peaks your interest fitness wise and stick to it.

Did you set a new years goal?  Do you have a WORD for 2013?  I’d love to hear about it, if you do.
